History of the Brookville Veterinarian Clinic

In 1884, Dr. J. A. MacTaggart opened the veterinary practice in Brookville Ontario at his home which was across the street from our current location. Dr. MacTaggart maintained the business until his death in 1931. The practice was taken over by Dr. B. D. Young in 1932 who continued to practice with his son, Dr. C. L. Young.

Since then, the Brookville Veterinarian Clinic has undergone major renovations.

In 1980, two new veterinarians, Dr. Grant and Dr. Harris purchased the clinic and moved the practice across the road into the old Nassagaweya Town Hall.

In 1991, Dr. Steven Ball purchased the Brookville Veterinarian Clinic and was joined by Dr. Jack Druif in 1992.

Presently, there eight staff members in total to care for and assist with our furry patients. Debbie Davis is a full-time technician and Sherry Young works part-time in the evenings and on the weekends. The whole practice is managed by Jane Nelles.

The Brookville Veterinarian Clinic has been serving the Nassagaweya community for over 118 years and "although the staff has changed, the caring service has not."
